Q:
Why can't I assign another person to a task to cut its duration in half?
A:
There is a theory in Project Management called the Mythical Man Month (named after a book with that title). You might expect the program to work that way, but this assumes that 2 people thrown at a 1 day task will take half a day. We feel this is an unrealistic model, much like asking 2 women to have a baby in 4 1/2 months.
When we set out to define what Work Time meant, we tried to give the user more flexibility than that. By listing out the individual assignments, you can change their work times and durations individually.
Many people have said " If a task is not going on schedule, and I want to throw more people at it to make the task finish quicker." This is not within TaskMaster's abilities either.
