Why doesn't the scale on the Gantt chart go down to hours or minutes?
A:
The Gantt shows the tasks and assignments in relation to each other. This timeline is used to give feedback such as this: Which tasks are on the critical path? Where have I set impossible constraints? How does a change affect the end date of a project?
We think people would not need to see this information scaled in hours. Looking at the Gantt scaled in days, the time bars do indicate hourly differences, e.g. there is a slight difference between a task that ends at 10am as opposed to 11am. We also believe TaskMaster is well suited for long term projects, where hours have little meaning in the big picture.
We could be wrong about all this, so if we hear this complaint enough, by all means we'll consider it for a future version.
