I find the 4-way splitter confusing. Can I just have 4 different windows?
A:
We believe it would be very difficult to juggle 4 different windows on the screen. The 4-way split view let's you hide information you don't want to see. It also allows you to fill up the whole window with only one of the views, preserving the "window for a window's worth of information" paradigm.
We have had requests for multiple views as well. We base all of our revisions on customer feedback, so if enough people share your views you may see some architectural changes in future versions!
Overall, though, we have had generally good feedback about the 4-way split view. One way we tried to set ourselves apart from other project managers is to get away with as few panels and windows as we could. I hope that as you use the tool more you come to value the setup in the main window.
