Q:
I set the style for a paragraph, but nothing happens.
A:
When you apply a style to a paragraph, local formatting (like bold, italic and underlined words etc.) on parts of the text is not affected. This allows you to apply a style without destroying your emphasized words, etc.
If a paragraph has local formatting over all the text, it will override the style settings.
To "clean up" a paragraph:
1. Select it.
2. Choose Format->Font->Clear (or click the "remove formatting" button in the speedbar). Now only the style info will be used.
Note: The local formatting in the paragraph will be destroyed by this operation.
3. Re-apply the local formatting you had (like bold words etc.).
