I launch OmniWeb and it just dies.

You may have two programs installed to view images. You should de-install ImageViewer and install OmniImageFilter.service. There is a conflict with these 2 viewers, so we recommend you not use ImageViewer with 1.0.
If this is not the case, try moving your .NeXT folder to .NeXT.old, log out and back in, and try OmniWeb.
If you are attempting to use OmniWeb 2.0 on a NEXTSTEP 3.2 system, you must either install the NeXT FoundationKit bundled with NEXTSTEP 3.3 User, Enterprise Objects Framework (EOF) client libraries (which you can install on NEXTSTEP 3.2), or OpenStep. (See Do I need NEXTSTEP 3.3?)
