Why does Diagram take a long time to launch?

D!2 does take longer than D!1 to launch and quit. D!2 is a much larger application than D!1 because of all the new features and additional graphics in the interface. More importantly, we cache all of the inspectors and panels, so that they load into memory at launch time and come up instantly when you bring them up while working. This is also why D!2 is also more memory intensive. You may wait a little longer to launch, but the real gain comes when the inspectors and panels appear quickly during your work session.
