I need some way to generate symbol characters in Diagram (greek and mathematical symbols normally generated by the alt and shift keys). I gather that these are not recognized in Diagram because of emacs keybindings. Is there some way to turn off emacs keybindings so that I can have access to these special characters?

Unfortunately, there is no way to turn off the emacs key bindings in Diagram!. As a workaround, you can create special characters in another program such as Edit and then paste them into Diagram!
