Why aren't superscripts/subscripts conserved between my slide view and my outline view?
A:
The views only share core text and structure; formatting such super or subscripting is not preserved across forms. For most applications you don't want formatting changes to carry over... for instance, you may want to make something stand out in bold in a slide view and not in an outline view. Equations, Subscripts and Superscripts are notable exceptions.
