Q:
When I open my Concurrence file I must wade through several minutes of warnings that links to image files cannot be found. How can I stop this cascade of warnings?
A:
We keep the warnings around each time a file is opened so that the user has the opportunity to not use an image that is linked to (i.e., if a file server were down) but next time can display that image (i.e., when the file server is up.)
To permanently remove that cascade of warnings, try this:
1. Make a backup COPY of the entire concurrence file
2. Select the file in the Workspace
3. Do a File -> Open as Folder
4. Put any .tiff, .eps or .pict inside the file wrapper with the other images. You're going to use this dummy as a "holder" for your links.
5. Open the file. When you get the warnings, choose this dummy image as the new link in all your warning panels. (If the panel does not allow you into the document file wrapper, type in the name of the file and press Enter.)
6. Make sure you save the document.
7. The next time you open the presentation, it should not display the link warnings.
