Concurrence Frequently Asked Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

Q:

I have a slide containing a dark blue background wash with some bitmaps containing alpha composited over it. It looks OK on the screen, but when I save the PostScript and preview it, the alpha backgrounds have become white!

A:

Compositing is a Display PostScript extension, so alpha images are only supported onscreen, not on the printed page (thus not in Preview). Thus this is a limitation of all NEXTSTEP applications. The best you can do is save a bitmap and print that. For drawing packages this means you can save a tiff. For Concurrence, select a slide from the slide browser, do an Edit-> Copy, paste it into some drawing package, such as WetPaint, and print it that way.
